Hosta 'Valley's Glacier'


 

Hosta 'Valley's Glacier' is een sport afkomstig uit Hosta 'First Frost'. Dus een Tardiana (blauw blad) met een brede crème geel kleurige (gevlamde) rand. Deze rand wordt later in het groeiseizoen ivoorwit van kleur.

 

 

Plant: 35 in. (89 cm) diameter, 16 in. (41 cm) high; mound-like; medium.
Leaf: 7 in. (18 cm) long, 5 in. (13 cm) wide; 8 to 10 pairs of veins; intensely blue-green; yellow margin; flat; glaucous bloom on top; glaucous bloom underneath; moderately flat; broadly ovate; cordate base;

Scape: 7.9 to 23.6 in. (20 cm) long; blue.
Flower: 2 in. (5.58 cm) long; tubular; Zwolle, The Netherlands - July 15 to Aug 15; *codes 7, 7, 8;
Seed: sets viable seed;blue-green seed pod;

Clump History: the original sport; 4 yrs old; Zwolle, The Netherlands;
Notable Characteristics: the edge colors that change from yellow to white
Seasonal Variation: margin becomes white later in season
